Noralta Lodge Ltd. is a family owned business that has been exclusively providing camp accommodation services in Northern Alberta since 1997. Our Alberta work camps currently accommodate thousands of guests, and continuously pursuing growth opportunities. Lance Torgerson – President, Founder, and Owner
Lance Torgerson is the founder and owner of Noralta Lodge Ltd. Mr. Torgerson started the Company in the fall of 1997 under the name of Kamp Keltor. As President, Mr. Torgerson is responsible for the overall strategic direction of Company and provides guidance and leadership to the executive team.
Mr. Torgerson is very well connected in the Alberta energy service industry, having been born and raised in northern Alberta. He was and still is the youngest town councillor in the history of Slave Lake. Prior to starting Noralta, Mr. Torgerson owned and operated a number of successful business ventures. In his role as President, Mr. Torgerson, over time has developed strong relationships with senior management at several of Noralta's key customers.
Mr. Torgerson attended the University of Calgary and graduated from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) with a Business Administration in Management degree.
Mr. Torgerson was awarded The Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2012 Prairies Award for Energy, Privately Held, as well as the NAIT 2013 Alumni Award of Distinction.
Greg Cameron, CA - Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Cameron joined Noralta in December of 2008 as Chief Executive Officer. He oversees all aspects of the business, from construction and mobilization of the facilities to the operations of the five lodges to the transportation and logistics of staff and operational supplies with a specific focus on the strategic direction of the Company.
Mr. Cameron has very strong relationships with senior management at Noralta's key customers. Mr. Cameron joined Noralta from PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP where he was a tax partner and where Noralta and the Torgerson family were long time clients of Mr. Cameron.
Mr. Cameron holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of Alberta and is a Chartered Accountant. He also holds the designation of Trust and Estate Practitioner. Mr. Cameron is a member of the Canadian Tax Foundation and the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners. He is a past trustee of the Alberta Cancer Foundation and past President and current board member for the Edmonton Petroleum Golf and Country Club.
Corey Smith - Chief Operating Officer
Corey Smith joined Noralta Lodge as Chief Operating Officer in January 2013 and is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Noralta Lodges’ Operations, and Marketing and Sales activities.
Mr. Smith has an accomplished history in Alberta’s business community. He was one of the founding management team members of Lacent Technologies, an advanced manufacturing business; sat as the Director of New Ventures for the Alberta Research Council (ARC); and has served the Edmonton based, international company SCM Insurance Services as both President of its Investigative Services Division and Chief Marketing and Sales Officer.
Mr. Smith graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Commerce degree and, on top of his forays into the business world, is the president and founder of three Edmonton food and beverage establishments, most notably Packrat Louie Restaurant & Bar located in Edmonton’s historic Old Strathcona District. He currently serves as a Board Member for TEC Edmonton, and for the Entrepreneurs’ Organization of Edmonton.
Frankie Kim - Chief Financial Officer
Frankie Kim joined Noralta in January of 2012 as Chief Financial Officer. He is responsible for the financial risk management and administrative operations of the Company.
Mr. Kim joined Noralta from McCoy Corporation, a public company in the drilling and completions and manufacturing industries, based out of Edmonton, Alberta, where he served as Vice President, Finance, under Mr. Kim's guidance McCoy Corporation won the 2010 Oilweek/ATB Financial Annual Report Award for Best in Class – Financial Statements & Analysis. Prior to McCoy Corporation, Mr. Kim was a manager in the Private Company Services Group at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP Edmonton, where he advised a wide range of business entities and industries.
Mr. Kim is a Chartered Accountant, a past member of the Grant MacEwan Community College Accounting & Strategic Measurement Program Advisory Committee and past Treasurer of SKILLS Society of Edmonton. He also holds a CICA CFO leadership certificate.
